ABOUT SIMPLY INSPIRED
I have always loved water, waterfalls, the ocean, the sea, and the Great Lakes. As a child, I played in muddy creeks, rivers, oceans, even the rain. The sound of waves, running rivers and water falls always brings me peace. I would run to nature and breathe her peace. The water somehow soothed the chaos of the world around me.
I began making jewelry thirty-some-odd years ago. Back then, I created pieces of jewelry for my friends and family. A wonderful friend bought me my first instructional wired jewelry book. Thanks Darby! I was sold. Making gemstone jewelry became an outlet for my creativity. I started to create jewelry using natural gemstones and sterling silver. My creations were dainty with the magic of sparkles. My goal was to make jewelry that most people could afford and use precious and semiprecious gemstones to make my pieces meaningful.
Today, I still make nature inspired dainty jewelry but, I added my love for water into the recipe. Another friend taught me how to find beach/sea glass. Thanks Pat! If I said I was over the moon for sea glass that would be an understatement. Sea glass has a story. Each piece is unique and unlike any other piece. It is one of a kind. The glass is discarded in a body of water and nature beats it, breaks it, and smooths off its rough edges. And it takes a very long time. I have been privileged enough to travel all over and find sea glass to use in my jewelry. Who doesn’t love a good story?
I would love to help you tell your story! Simply Inspired offers a charm bar that consists of sea glass, charms, and chains. Our charm bar is mobile and we offer our services for pop ups, retreats, jewelry parties, bridal showers, and birthday parties. We also offer custom made jewelry for that special bride and bridal party. One of my favorite pieces of jewelry that I created was recreated from four different generations of jewelry for a special bride. I cannot wait to be Simply Inspired for you!
Being part of the jewelry industry has been more than running a business for me—it’s been a deeply meaningful learning experience rooted in the artisan community. I love being surrounded by creatives who value craftsmanship, storytelling, and intention, and who are always willing to share knowledge, techniques, and encouragement. Through this community, I’ve learned not just how to grow as a maker, but how to appreciate the time, care, and history behind every handmade piece. Supporting fellow artisans and being supported in return has shaped how I approach my work, reminding me that this industry is built on collaboration, passion, and a shared love for creating things that truly matter.
